I have dozens of "favorite" church songs.

The words, the sounds, the melody, and the harmonies all work together to create meaning greater than the sum of its parts. This brilliant combination then sticks in our heads, whether we want them to or not.

Church songs, whether centuries old or written earlier today, are great friends especially when God, the Bible, and fellow pilgrims feel far away.
